Columbus day weekend is considered generally the peak for Vermont foliage. It rained this morning, but cleared up in the early afternoon, so Linda, Maggie and I took a ride to Richmond, VT onto Huntington Road south to VT route 17 across Appalachian gap. This is one of the most beautiful drives in the state, particularly on a day like today. I’ve also included some photos of the Round Church in Richmond. I cut off the cupola… sorry.
I’ve cycled the route that we took today. It’s about 55 miles in length and quite hilly. The gap itself is for me, a very hard climb on the bicycle, but the ride down is quite sweet, and very, very fast. Definitely worth the time and trouble.
